Marcos Agro-Industrial School is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

MAIS was created by virtue of the Barrio High School Charter which gave birth to the three Barrio High Schools of the municipality of Marcos. First in 1966, Lydia and Santiago Barangay High Schools and later in 1967, the Agunit Barangay High School.

  • Later in 1970 – the three barangay high schools were converted into a municipal high school with its new name Marcos Municipal High School through the Municipal Resolution No. 18 dated July 1, 1970 with its main campus at Barangay Lydia.
  • In 1977 – the Marcos Municipal High School was again converted into a national vocational high school by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1050 dated June 16, 1977 bearing the name Marcos Agro-Industrial School. With its nationalization, it started offering secondary vocational courses under Mr. Adriano L. Lazaro, the first Principal of the school.
  • November 2, 1989 – rapid growth and development of the school was continued under the leadership of Mr. Froilan B. Salem, the second Vocational School Principal/Vocational School Administrator II.
  • 1992-1993- Post secondary courses started to be offered in this school year.
  • August 25, 1994 – the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) under the Republic Act 7796 was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos made MAIS one of the fifty nine (59) technical vocational schools under the authority. A rapid re-engineering of the programs, projects and facilities was pursued.
  • 2002-2003 – The rationalization of the educational system brought about the total transfer of the secondary program of MAIS to DECS now DepEd resulting to greater focus on post-secondary education and skills training. With this, the school was accredited by TESDA as an Assessment Center in the various programs it offers.
  • June 9, 2003 – the launching of the new Competency Based Curriculum on Crop Production NC II took place and this program emerged as its Distinctive Area of Competence (DAC). MAIS was recognized as Center of Technical Excellence (CenTex) on Crop Production and Processing.
  • February 26, 2004 – MAIS has manifested exemplary commitment in implementing Quality Management Systems in pursuance of the Philippine TVET Quality Awards wherein it has satisfied the Program Accreditation Commitment Level Criteria that resulted to the achievement of the PQA Bronze Level Award.
  • July 4, 2007 – Mr. Regino T. Sebastian was appointed as the school administrator and brought numerous improvements on school programs and facilities. Full implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum was carried out in all its registered programs. Likewise, acquisition of training equipment is being done in order to provide quality trainings. At present, continuous improvement is being pursued in order to attain its goals an objectives as a TVET institution.
