People Empowerment and Advancement Center for Employment (PEACE Training Center) is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The People Empowerment and Advancement Center for Employment (PEACE) school was launched last April 28, 2008. It’s the first school of its kind the the Philippines and is located on a 400 sq. m. lot near the New Public Market in Barangay Suklayin, Baler, Aurora.

Gov. Bella Angara-Castillo secured a Php 5 million grant from the government of Japan to fund the construction of the center. The provincial government contributed a counterpart funding of Php 1.68 million while Cong. Sonny Angara, through his Countrywide Development Fund, donated Php 1 million to provide all the equipment necessary to launch educational courses.

The PEACE educational center is open to all residents of Aurora and is geared to help the socially disadvantaged sectors of society; namely, women, people with disability, out of school youth and senior citizens. Admission requirements are as follows:

  1. A bonafide resident of Aurora Province
  2. Barangay / Police clearance for enrollees above 21 years old
  3. Certificate of indigency from the PSWDO or MSWDO

People Empowerment For Employment Center (PEACE Training Center) will be operated by the provincial government of Aurora and the courses are certified by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The program is also in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

PEACE offers the following courses:

Massage Therapy
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of massage therapists in accordance with industry standards.

Personal Computer operation
This course consists of competencies that will allow effective and efficient use of personal computers.

Commercial Cooking
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of any kitchen staff on food preparation.

Hairdressing
This course is designed to pursue a range of occupations associated with hairdressing.

Beauty Care
This course provides experience in beauty care services such as hand and foot spa, body massage, body scrub and many others.

Dressmaking and Tailoring
This course covers basic common and core competencies on dressmaking and tailoring.

Housekeeping
This course provides training on housekeeping services to guests.

Other Courses Offered

  • Shoe repair and slipper making
  • Baking
  • Flower arrangement
  • Dance and Music

More training courses will be offered depending on demand.

Individuals from the private sector have already signified interest to either help provide employment or capital funding to graduates who wish to start their own business.

The cost of training and tuition fees may vary depending upon the specific course of interest and the school offering the training. Training centers also may have slightly different syllabus to teach to students in a class.
