TESDA Quezon Distributes Toolkits to Welding Graduates in Catanauan

Catanauan, Quezon – The TESDA Quezon Provincial Office, under the guidance of Mr. Antonio E. Canzana, TESD Specialist I, proudly distributed Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) starter toolkits to successful TESDA scholars. These recipients, who recently completed the Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II training, hailed from the 3rd Congressional District of Quezon.

The distribution ceremony took place on March 18, 2023, at Brgy. San Pablo Suha, Catanauan, Quezon, benefiting individuals from priority barangays in Quezon province under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC). These scholars had undergone free training programs provided by the Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS).

PRLEC plays a crucial role as part of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), dedicated to fostering self-reliant, productive, resilient, and sustainable communities through holistic and culturally responsive development programs.

During the distribution event, Mr. Canzana congratulated the completers of the TESDA training program in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II. In response, the scholars expressed their heartfelt gratitude to TESDA for the invaluable knowledge and skills gained during the training program, recognizing the opportunities it opens up for their future careers.

The success of this distribution was made possible with the support of the 85th Infantry (SANDIWA) Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army. Following the distribution, Mr. Canzana conducted a courtesy visit with Atty. Ramon A. Orfanel, the Municipal Mayor of Catanauan, Quezon, where they engaged in discussions regarding Devolution and TESDA sa Barangay, further strengthening the partnership between TESDA and the local government in advancing skills development initiatives at the grassroots level.
