Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Government College Offers Free Education; New Extension Campus in Pagadian City

Region’s lone local college that offers Free Tertiary Education

By virtue of Republic Act 10931 and through Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Press Release dated March 15, 2018 signed by J. Prospero E. De Vera III, CHED Officer-in-Charge and Spokesperson declared Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Government College (ZDSPGC) as the only Local College in Region-IX included for FREE HIGHER EDUCATION beginning this school year 2018-2019.

R.A 10931 is the Act that promotes Universal Access to qualify Tertiary Education by providing for free tuition and other school fees in State Universities and Colleges, Local Universities and Colleges and State-run Technical and Vocational Institutions, establishing the Tertiary Education subsidy and Student Loan Program, strengthening the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education.

New Extension Campus

Envisioned by Provincial Governor Antonio H. Cerilles, ZSPGC is the only Provincial Government ran local college nationwide that was established in Poblacion, Aurora this province, the main campus, has its new extension campus located inside the Provincial Capitol’s vicinity in Pagadian City is now accepting enrollees for four year Degree Programs for S.Y 2018-2019. With the following courses offerings:

1. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA)
2. Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE)
3. Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education (BTTE)
4. Bachelor of Science in Information System (BSIS)

Free Tuition Fees and Other Fees for Senior High School

In addition, with the issuance of Department of Education (DepEd) Permit, they are now offering free tuition fees and other fees for Senior High School Program. With the following Academic Technical- Vocational- Livelihood (TVL) Tracks;

Free TESDA Programs are offered under Republic Act 10931 effective starting June 2018 with the following subsidy on transportation/food allowance, free tuition fee and other fees, assessment fee and starter tool kit will be given to students at the end of the training on Organic Agriculture, Agri Crops Production and on Aquaculture progam.
