AMG Skilled Hands Technological College

AMG Skilled Hands Technological College is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

AMG Skilled Hands Technological College (ASHTEC) is an institution that offers different technical courses, academic learning and Christian-oriented activities to underprivileged youths with its main goal that they gain better opportunities in life through relevant and excellent skills training. ASHTEC aims not only to help the poor but also build a strong relationship with God among its constituents.

AMG SHTCI, had its humble beginnings in a dilapidated warehouse on Commonwealth Avenue, with a lone trainer and five (5) male students, where they held classes under a tree. In 1997, the training center was blessed by God with a one hectare land in Barangay Makapilapil, San Ildefonso, Bulacan through the generous support of Woord en Daad, AMG Phillipines’ partner in the Netherlands.

At the run of the new millennium in 2001, SHTCI faced new challenges and began to expand. With its strategy to get skills instructors from it own program, it recruited twelve (12) instructors from auto mechanic and welding courses. Three departments were then formed – Admin, Training and Livelihood Departments. In 2002, Computer courses were also introduced as part of the Information technology (IT) Program. The Job and Business Center (JBC) was established in year 2005. JBC is an additional department in the Skilled Hands System that serves to provide placements to graduates in On-the-job training and employment. In 2005, AMG SHTCI revised its curriculum to make it more responsive to the job market. The four courses are now registered with TESDA, namely Automotive Technology, Computer Technology, Electronic Technology and Information Technology. In 2006, AMG SHTCI improved its training curriculum to 2-year courses. On the 23rd of June 2009, AMG Skilled Hands Training Center, Inc. changed its name to AMG Skilled Hands Technological College, Inc. with SO CN200262161. The school now offers Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Electronics and Communication Technology (ECT), Welding Technology (WT) and Diploma Course in Entrepreneurship (DCE).

AMG SHTCI has developed partnership over the years with different NGOs such as CCT, CMSP and Compassion International and local and multi-national companies (MNC) such as EEI Corp and Lexmark in Cebu for placement in On-the-Job Training (OJT) and employment of graduates. In 2007, AMG SHTCI inked a MOA with EEI Corp in the training of unemployed adults for deployment to their local and overseas projects. Presently there are more than 1,000 trainees who graduated in the partnership training and who now work in the Middle East.

• With good moral character
• Undergone a pre-training assessment
• Can communicate both orally and in written form
