MIT was inspired by the successes of its sister companies founded by Engr. EDUARDO “ED” R. MALASAGA. More than 25 years ago, Ed started a single proprietorship, JARE ENTERPRISES, involved in the trading of industrial and motorcycle spare parts and accessories. Owing to the growing demand of customers, Ed formed the UNIMACHINE INCORPORATED engaged in steelworks, machining and manufacturing of industrial parts using the traditional and computer-driven lathe machines and equipment. Again, in response to customer demand, Ed consolidated trading and manufacturing operations under the MALASAGA TRADING CORPORATION. MALASAGA TRADING CORPORATION has been granted ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Certifications for quality and environmental standards.
Always listening to customer needs, Ed decided to establish the MALASAGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. In the course of dealing with clientele, the great and continuing demand for highly skilled workers was realized. Thus, the idea of a technical institute was born. Sister company, MALASAGA TRADING CORPORATION, counts among its clients some of the top domestic and multinational companies that include San Miguel Corporation, Toyota Philippines, Aichi Forging, Laguna Metts Corporation, FVC Philippines Inc., Uratex, and Light Railway Transit Authority. They are the ready job market and on-the-job-training (OJT) venues for MIT students.
