ABA Technical School of Sto. Tomas is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

ABA, stands for the owner’s name, Alforque, Bernardino-Alpas, a Technical-Vocational school established with the owner’s vision of providing an affordable and accessible  education for the people of Sto. Tomas. It was in the year 2000 when the school first operated at a humble location, sharing a two-storey building with former Sta. Ana Vocational Institute at Macardo Building corner Fd. Rd. 3, with twelve students for the first semester and seven instructors under the administration of Mr. Ian Gallo. The following courses were offered Electronic Technology, Computer Technology, Automotive Technology and Computer Secretarial. during the second semester the students population decreases into nine.

In 2001, the school relocated at Fd. Rd. 2, formely Alice Bakeshop Bldg. Ms. Rosebelle Bolences became the school administrator; it was her administration that the students population balloned to its peak of more than 400 students in 2006-2008, making its way of having an afternoon session to cater the students having the residence far from the town. The two-year courses, Computer Secretarial, Computer Programming, Computer Technician, Automotive Technology and Electronic Technology offered by the school were also enhoyed students with scholarship grants such as LGU, Barangay Scholar, and TESDA Scholar. The school was also able to deploy students On-The-Job trainings within the big companies both in private and public sector that made the graduates easily land a job.

Credible instructors, true Education Advocators and right Administration gave credit to the overwhelming increase of students’ population. There were department heads, staff and instructors whom been in the school for more than five years and still rendering their services up to this writings:

Mr. Bienvenido A. Cayman of the Computer Technician Department Mr. Darius Q. Lalantacon of Automotive Department, for instructors, Mrs. Ana Jean M. Adajar also the SSC adviser, Mrs. Kareen May R. Cadorna as School Registrar, Mrs. Cecilia D. Payno as Bookkeeper and Mrs. Candelaria A. Brucal whom also the acting School Administrator in 2011 and NSTP coordinator. The Late Mr. Dante Angway, contributed much to the progress and performance of the school during his stay as Department Head and instructor of this Institution.

Mr. Jaime D. Magnanao LLb., former school consultant put into office as school administrator in 2007-2010. In his administration the TESDA Curriculum changes into a one-year program. The school population decreased having the courses offered Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, Automotive Servicing NC II, and Programming NC IV.

The school had its down fall, struggling to survive its mission and vision on 2011, as it produces almost 40 graduates. Mrs. Visminda P. Alforque, the better half of the School President whom also serve as the corporate treasurer made an effort of personally leading the Career Guidance Orientation within the different secondary schools of Sto. Tomas. The orientation was also accompanied by Ms. Shayne Kimberly P. Alfoque, the school Vice President, the staff and department heads.
