Blue Horizon Maritime Training Center is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The BHMTCI is the realization of collective dreams. In August of 2003, eminent professionals determined to pool together resources, expertise and long broad-based maritime and land-based experiences, established a training institute in response to the strong felt need of skilled seafarers worldwide. Thus, BHMTCI was born as a training institute geared to develop World-class Filipino seafarers and meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

BHMTCI is conveniently situated in the historical site of Binondo, Manila where it has acquired its own building located at Blue Horizon Bldg. No. 357 William Burke (along Escolta St.) , Binondo, Manila.

To further serve the seafarers, BHMTCI applied for Accreditation for TESDA Competency Assessment. TESDA Certificate of Accreditation as Assessment Center for CATERING / STEWARD was awarded to BHMTCI on May 17, 2004 and re-accredited every end of period. Recently, BHMTCI has acquired Certificate of AccreditatIon as TESDA Deck Rating Assessment Center .

In June 28, 2004, BHMTCI was recognized and authorized by Overseas Workers Welfares Administration (OWWA) to participate in their repackaged Seafarer’s Upgrading Program (SUP), which intends to provide Filipino seafarers job-related
knowledge, skills and expertise in accordance with technological advancements and international maritime standards.

On Nov. 23, 2005 provisional PANAMA Accreditation on all training programs was bestowed on BHMTCI and subsequently issued PANAMA Certificate no. 149-06 dated May 19, 2006. Recently , another feat had been added to our company, as PANAMA Accredited Assessment Center with provisional recognition October 23, 2007.

Basic Requirements for TESDA Courses:

• At least 18 years of age
• At least High School Graduate
• Copy of NSO Birth Certificate
• With good moral character
• Undergone a pre-training assessment
• Can communicate both orally and in written form

Training Fees and Schedule

The cost of training and tuition fees may vary depending upon the specific course of interest and the school offering the training. Training centers also may have slightly different syllabus to teach to students in a class.
