John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo) is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The Training center adopts the JBLF System logo. This is because it is under the direct management of the mother unit, the JBLF. It is headed by the director and provides training and upgrades prospective seafarers of the different shipboard functions and departments viz. deck, engine and steward. The courses it offers are in compliance with the training requirements of the 1995 amendments to STCW 1978 Convention; accredited by the Maritime Training Council (MTC), Panama Maritime Authority (PMA), Norwegian Maritime Directorate (NMD) and certified by Bureau Veritas (BV).
Its main objective is to provide competent and skilled graduates, trained and updated to world-class standards, ready and willing to join the ever challenges of the world merchant fleet as disciplined, committed and valued mariners. Equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities for maritime it maintains two venues for training – Molo Site at M.H. del Pilar Street, Molo, Iloilo City where theoretical instructions are carried out and Puerto Del Mar Site at Nueva Valencia, Guimaras for practicum training. Medical Care is conducted at an intermediary Medical Hospital within the city of Iloilo and a maximum of 24 trainees is accepted in a particular course and an even smaller number for courses which need in-depth training.
