Far Eastern University (FEU) has long been regarded as one of the leading universities in the Philippines. Since its establishment in 1928 by founder Nicanor Reyes, Sr., FEU has expanded its course offerings to cater to the evolving needs of the Filipino youth in the professional world.
Its flagship campus, FEU Manila, has withstood the test of time, having survived the Japanese and American occupations. Despite these tumultuous times, the Manila campus remains home to the first Accountancy and Business school for Filipinos in the country, now known as the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance, and has extended its programs to the Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Fine Arts, Education, Graduate Studies, and Medicine.
In the opening ceremonies of the 87th Founding Anniversary of FEU, Chairman Aurelio R. Montinola III emphasized the longstanding vision of the university in saying, “Where education plays a central role in political, economic, social , and cultural life in the Philippines, FEU has led the DEMOCRATIZATION of Higher Education in affording quality education to the working classes of the country.”
Today, FEU has created a network of institutes and campuses in key locations of Greater Metro Manila as it continues to open opportunities for the middle and working classes in pursuit of quality education.
“Our goal is to provide meaningful careers for all who wish to work for FEU in an education sector that is of vital importance to our growing country,” said Montinola. “We must continue to enhance the employability of our graduates so that they can become productive members of society.”
