ACSI College Iloilo is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Associated Computer System Institute (ACSI) was established in 1984 in Lapaz, Iloilo City by Danilo Formas, making it the first computer school in the island of Panay. It started as a single-room computer training institution with very few enrollees; however, succeeding years was marked by an increase in the number of enrollees. Enrollment increased by leaps-and-bounds despite the word-of-mouth advertising policy adapted to by the former owners of the school. In the first half of enrollees required a bigger building to accommodate the entire student population, thus necessitating the move to a new location.
True to his commitment in giving the students quality computer education at very affordable tuition, he immobilized tuition fee increase for the past four consecutive years and emphasized experiential learning by revitalizing the whole school system. Being a dynamic and progressive leader Mr. Llorente hired an energetic and self motivated staff that immediately revamped systems that were not conducive to the student’s welfare. The primary focus was to upgrade the whole school system of ACSI Business and Computer School to make its students globally competitive in the information technology arena but as well as in the Hotel and Restaurant and Business Industry, thus more computers and other facilities and equipment were purchased to upgrade the standard of the school and ensure a one computer is to one student ratio to better prepare the students. Consultants, who were experts in their field, were hired to give intensive training to the administrative staff and faculty.
Concern for the student’s welfare was not limited to academics only, but extended into their cultural physical, emotional and spiritual well being, accordingly, interest groups and sports events/clubs were established to ensure that students are well rounded. Students are also encouraged to study and work part-time to instill the value for world. In this, Management has aided the students by entering into agreements with multi-national and local companies that would hire ACSI students to become part of their work force.
