Safeguard Armor Security Training Center, Inc. (SASTCI) traces its origin as the Safeguard Group’s Training Center. It first opened its doors in 1981 with the purpose of honing the company’s security force to the highest standards of the industry.

It provides adequate education to prospective guards for them to be well-equipped in facing the challenges of their chosen profession through the Pre-Licensing Course. It also offers a Re-Training Course for experienced guards. All security personnel are required to undergo the course every two years to cope with the latest security techniques and procedures.

To further upgrade the licensed guards’ know-how, the Academy also offers the Supervisory Course to improve the competence and skill level of each enrolee, and to develop the proper mental attitude. It indoctrinates first-line and prospective supervisors as the middle management component of the Safeguard Security Group. The course further aims to make security supervisors appreciate the value of their position, understand their management function and process the technical aspects of an officers’ job. Supervisory development courses are also offered to all field officers and those earmarked for promotion.

These training courses of the SASTCI can also be availed of by non-Safeguard personnel. Every year a significant number of aspiring graduates enter and leave the portals of the training center well-rounded in the refined art of security service, products of the Safeguard Armor Security Training Center, Inc.

The SASTCI is duly certified by the Philippine National Police – Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Division (PNP-SAGSD), recognized by the Department of Education, Culture & Sports (DECS) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and is rightfully registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It consistently ranks as one of the best security guard training schools in the country today. In August 2002, the SAGSD awarded SASTCI with a Plaque of Recognition for being an Outstanding Private Security Training Center that consistently complied with the basic and general requirements mandated by the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 5487, as amended.

The school site is currently located at the 6th floor of the Manufacturer’s Building, Plaza Sta. Cruz, Manila. It has enough classrooms to accommodate the annual volume of trainees. The state-of-the-art facilities of the school, realized in its March 2005’s renovation, further enhanced the training ambience that is vital to the quick absorption capabilities of the subjects taught. Its curriculum was expanded to include short and optional courses like VIP training, K9 handler certification, riot control and emergency response training, human relations training and the like. The school boasts of licensed and experienced instructors who are well-versed and who can give on-site demonstrations and lectures to interested parties whenever and wherever the needs arise.

The SASTCI takes pride with every “Safeguard-trained” graduate. Proper security education makes a whole world of difference in the field of assets protection. The clients of the Safeguard Security Group appreciate this distinct advantage of SASTCI certified guards.
