Bangui Institute of Technology is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The Bangui Institute of Technology formerly the Bangui School of Fisheries is one of the TESDA Institutions in the Ilocos Norte Province located at the Barangay Manayon, in the municipality of Bangui . Bangui School of Fisheries was established under Republic Act 4214 dated June 1965. In 1972, it operated as Fisheries Secondary School.

After twenty five years under the Department of Education, the school became one of the TESDA Institutions in 1997. The school caters to the nearby municipalities of Adams, Pagudpud, Bangui, Burgos, Dumalneg and Pasuquin. Likewise clients come from northwestern part of Cagayan such as Sta, Praxedes, Claveria and Sanchez Mira.

On May 21, 2007 under the Republic Act 9469, Bangui School of Fisheries was renamed to the Bangui Institute of Technology. BIT finds time to set all possibilities to improve its performance to accomplish its medium or long term goal. It is one of the primary hubs of TESDA in the implementation of its programs and activities in the realization of the agency’s vision and mission towards global competitiveness and curbing out unemployment problems. BIT was recognized as one of the best Performing TTI in the nation .

In 2007, the school became the No. 1 Best Performing TESDA nstitutions based on its total performance accomplishing its target and the updated reporting system on the different programs it implemented. As one of the recognized Technology Institutions of TESDA, BIT instituted ways and means in the development of world class workforce needed in the labor market. Its just a mere full battle towards regenerating the dormant skills and capabilities of the unemployed individuals in this part of the country. With the different qualifications being offered , BIT is giving training to its customers necessary for them to use in seeking their employment here and abroad.
