The Bearer of Light and Wisdom Colleges (BLWC) is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

History of BLWC

In 2003, after gaining experience in school administration Mr. Ronaldo A. Salvador started The Bearer of Light and Wisdom Academy. He wanted to start a better Pre-School in terms of curriculum, with more personal supervision than those being offered in other Pre-Schools they visited in Bacoor, Cavite. From a small beginning of less than 40 children during the summer months of 2003, BLWA grew with a total population of 119 students from Nursery to Grade V. In 2005, the Grade VI level was opened. In school year 2007, BLWA opened a High School Department. From the outset Mr. “Bong” Salvador did not want school to become a purely business venture. Although the “Business” was EDUCATION, he continued to provide “quality” education, emphasizing learning through experience and individualized instruction in the Preschool. He wanted the children to consider the school as a “Home away from Home”, thus, giving them proper motivation to become well-adjusted individuals able to face the rigors of our world today with fear of God. In their pursuit of “quality education”. He also strove to maintain “quality student”. BLWA maintains comprehensive admission requirements as well as retention criteria. The Grade School Department has been praised by parents and education officials alike. The BLWA, a non-sectarian, non-stock, non-profit and co-educational school provides the appropriate normal atmosphere for boys and girls to interact with their classmates in preparation to what is like outside the school. The High School Department prepares the students for college or future employment by offering high school Arts and Science courses including Business, Computer and Technology, in addition to their academic preparation, special training in leadership, teamwork and cooperation prepare the students for a successful collegiate life and a productive mindset when they join the workforce or become successful. Now with vigor and enthusiasm and of course through the guidance of the Lord, Mr. Salvador expanded his mission by providing collegiate education to low-income families living in the different barangay of Molino, Bacoor. The Building of the College Department become striving dream but came to reality. From BLWA now it is known as The Bearer of Light and Wisdom Colleges (BLWC).

Conceptualization

“Education is a matter of reason but a matter of ‘love’.” With this in mind, BLWC was established in 2003, with every pupil treated like its very own child. Each is given special attention, love and care. The school’s philosophy emanates from its secure spiritual heritage. Every student, regardless of his/her personality and to grow in a faith that is relevant in today’s world. Its Philosophy also stems from its educational heritage where it’s the student’s potential is directed towards spiritual, intellectual, social and moral growth. The students are then able to make value judgments and informed choices in order to become adults who lead lives of personal integrity. Focusing on the individual, the school endeavors to develop in each student a concern for others, to be aware of his/her environment and to take responsibility in improving the quality of live. Now known as BLWC, it will do its share in providing a good education to every child. The school, however, will depend on parents’ cooperation in doing their part at home, as well as on their active participation as parents at the school.
