BMC Training Center for Welding and Fabrication is an institution accredited by TESDA that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET) under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

As a certified welder for most of his life, the author sees the unlimited opportunities for Filipino welders to excel in their craft, given the proper training and motivation. It is the dream of every welder to achieve Class A accreditation which would open doors to excellent job placement both here and abroad. Unfortunately, many of our welders have not had formal training but learned through apprenticeships in the workplace with exposure, unfortunately again, it is often inadequate for a young person, in the rural area who have the inclination to study welding but are not able to do so, due to lack of equipment’s.

By way of paying back the blessings he had received from the Divine Providence, the author shares through this handbook what he knows about the welding technology, from the simplest to the most advance and complex: familiarization of materials, annealing, English and Metric system of measurements, tin and Babbit soldering, oxy-acetylene welding, brazing, cutting and joining dissimilar metals, aluminum welding (gas), figure and pattern development, Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). He also presents his innovation and the welding techniques he has developed over the years namely: the 3GD-D single 45G-D and double 45G-D

This handbook also shows how one can learn to do welding even without the lathe machine, which is used to make accurate bevel angle on test pipe, by using plate as simulator to a pipe, forming the standard 3GD-D and applying the new technique single 45G-D and double 45G-D. Mastering the 12 factors in good welding – and a TESDA accreditation results to a new welder. before an individual becomes a multi-skilled 6G welder, he must be a SMAW welder first, the basic in the field of welding.

The procedures detailed in this material are aimed not only at cutting the cost of instructional materials, power and consumables, but also at helping produce high quality welders through a 360-hour training course, using this handbook, this country may yet come up with highly competitive welders who will meet the domestic and overseas job requirements for competent, qualified and certified welders.
